Psychedelic Integration

General Information

Plant medicines have been used by indigenous communities for healing for millennia.

In 2023 the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia approved the use of psilocybin and MDMA for medical use - in a treatment called Psychedelic or Medication Assisted Psychotherapy. These medicines must be prescribed by a Psychiatrist (Authorised Prescriber) and can only be used to treat people with treatment resistant Major Depressive Disorder and treatment resistant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Treatment involves the use of these medicines alongside a course of psychotherapy.

I am trained in and have experience providing  Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy in a private clinic in Melbourne.

It is important to know that the use of these substances outside of this setting or for other means is still considered illegal in Australia. I do not advocate, encourage or endorse the recreational use of illicit substances for any purpose, and cannot recommend or refer to any underground service or facilitate you to source any illicit substance. â€‹â€‹

Psychedelic Integration Services at Ora Clinical Psychology

At Ora Clinical Psychology, I provide psychedelic integration therapy for individuals who have had experiences with these medicines through legal medicine use or clinical trials, and are seeking support to help process and integrate these experiences.

I am able to do so under a harm reduction framework which is recognised as an important pathway to support peoples healing and to support integration of various experiences which may arise from the use of substances.

If you would like to explore psychedelic integration, then please make an appointment or contact me by email or phone.

The same fee as an individual therapy appointment applies.

Supervision

I am a board approved supervisor and provide supervision to other psychologists and mental health professionals including social workers, counsellors and psychotherapists. I can also provide supervision for those on the clinical psychology registrar program.

My approach to supervision is warm, relaxed, and reflective.

My experience includes working in private practice as clinical psychologist where I have an interest in working with adults a wide range of presenting concerns and particular interest in using ACT, IFS and mindfulness based therapies. I am trained in and have experience using schema therapy and DBT.

Over the past few years I have undergone training and have experience providing Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy including all phases of treatment (preparation, dosing and integration sessions).

I also have over a decade of experience working in the forensic mental health sector including community, hospital and prison based services in New Zealand, NSW and Victoria where I was involved in forensic assessment, treatment, and consultation and liaison work. I held a special interest in working with forensic clients with psychotic illnesses who had engaged in serious violent offending.
